SAMI TARIK

Sami Tarik ist a musical composer, percussionist, arranger, instrumentalist, singer, and creator of sociocultural projects with over 20 years of experience.  In poetic song, he expresses his Brazilian roots through the sound of the tambourine. His compositions are rich in meaning and symbolism typical of the Brazilian Northeast, where he was born.

His work with percussion, blending organic and electronic elements, emphasize rhythms such as Coco, samba, baião, and others. His work has been plentiful and varied, from his instrumental work with the group Café do Vento to his own current compositions. His performances feature original repertoire as well as collaborations with renowned artists on the Brazilian music scene — such as Chico César, Alceu Valença, Toninho Horta, Guinga, Geraldo Azevedo, Dominguinhos, and Jaques Morelenbaum. In addition to Brazil, he has worked in Germany, Qatar, Portugal, Spain, Cape Verde, Dubai, Croatia, Italy, Istanbul, Norway, and many other countries.
