Alee Thelfa is definitely known in the European music scene.
With his “witty, creative, always nonchalant play” (Anke Merklein, Fränkische
Landeszeitung, Mo, 17.09.2001), the energy–loaded percussionist and singer Alee T.
knows how to pull his audience into the spell. Now he is ready to show his talent as
composer with his first– from his fans longed –solo–CD.
Born and grown in Grenada, a small Caribbean Island, rhythm and music have
always been a part of him. Still in school, he started playing drums with Love Sounds
– a popular Calypso formation – all over the Caribbean Islands, before his musical
talent took him to Toronto. There he toured with various Canadian Blues–, Soul,
Reggae–, Jazz–, and Funk bands.
In the middle of the 80ies while on tour with John Ellison (some kind of wonderful)
through Europe and Africa, he decided to settle down in Vienna. This opened new
musical opportunities for him. From now on he was not only booked as a drummer
and percussionist but also as a background and lead singer. Performing with Hans
Theessink people all over Europe got to know and love him for his lively and
energetic playing.
In his first Solo CD Alee T. skilfully packed his experiences with diverse music and
cultures into his own characteristic sound. With his unmistakable voice and special
harmonies he recorded music that will definitely move you!
