NEŽA/FU PING/LARRY Trio

NEŽA OKORN is one of the most creative jazz singers in Vienna, a true free spirit, always improvising with fantasy and imagine, weaving her improvisations in and out of a song in a unique way. She comes from Slovena and moved to Vienna in 2023 to continue her studies. Meanwhile, she performs in her own quartet with pianist Urs Hager, has been a guest with the avant-garde trio, Mind Tree, is a regular at the Zwe jazz club, and has performed on radio and television in Ljubljana.
FU PING RYU starting with piano at the age of six, he picked up the guitar in high school and never stopped playing. He has played numerous different genres apart from classical and jazz, such as flamenco, choro, Irish, rock, etc. and is also very interested in ethnic music.
Fu Ping’s studies include a bachelor degree in classical guitar in Taiwan with Prof. Ming-Jian Fang, his master’s degree in Belgium with Prof. Hugues Navez. He also studied in the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles during his stay in Belgium; He studied jazz guitar in Universität Gustav Mahler in Klagenfurt, Austria with Prof. Agostino di Giorgio.
In 2019, he received first prize from Concours International Roland Dyens, Révélation Guitare Classique, where he performed his repertoire, compositions and arrangements in Paris, Brussels, Austria and Taiwan, etc. In 2021, he was awarded first prize in the Brussels International Composition Competition with his own work, Toccata. He also performed Concerto Métis by Roland Dyens with Chappelle Musicale de Tournai conducted by Phillipe Gérard in the opening concert of Brussels International Guitar Festival in 2021. He participated in Paris Guitar Festival 2021 as a soloist.

LARRY LOFQUIST is an expatriate from Detroit, Michigan. He worked many years as solo pianist in various venues, including the Trade Towers Marriott in New York and the Equinox Restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, as well as Porgy & Bess in Vienna. His previous jazz work has included gigs with Bob Mover, Claudio Roditi, and Vinnie Calaiuta. He has composed extensively, including songs, music for piano, jazz ensemble, orchestra and two operas.
