Liz Rosa is a Brazilian singer based in New York City. Born in Natal, Liz began her musical career in 2002 at age
of sixteen. After establishing her presence in the northeast of Brazil, she moved in 2007 to Rio de Janeiro. In
2012, she released her debut album “LIZ ROSA” (distributed by Som Livre) garnering attention from listeners
and critics in Brazil. Since the release, Liz has performed at some of the most important venues and festivals in
Brazil such as Vivo Rio (Rio de Janeiro), Blue Note Rio (Rio de Janeiro), Clube do Choro de Brasilia (Brasilia), Fest
Bossa & Jazz (Natal), Lençóis Jazz & Blues Festival (São Luís), Rio Montreux Jazz Festival (Rio de Janeiro), and
Blue Note SP (São Paulo). She has also appeared on national TV shows and has performed with well-known
Brazilian artists including João Bosco, João Donato and Roberto Menescal.
Her international debut occurred in 2013 at the II Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival, in Macau (China). Since then Liz
Rosa has performed at several festivals and jazz clubs around the world such as Festival Internacional de Jazz de
Punta del Este (Punta del Este, Uruguay), Rigas Ritmi Jazz Festival (Riga, Latvia), Złota Tarka Festival of Traditional
Jazz (Ilawa, Poland), Jazz at The Lyric (Toronto, Canada), Hot Club de Portugal (Lisbon, Portugal), Stowe Jazz
Festival (Stowe, USA), Cola Jazz Festival (Columbia, USA) and Jazzahead (Bremen, Germany).
In 2016, Liz Rosa moved to New York City to explore new levels of her musical development. Since then she has
been performing at esteemed jazz clubs including Mezzrow, 55 Bar, Jazz Forum, Zinc, The Django, Birdland, to
name a few.
In April 2021, Liz released the single and videoclip “Bem de leve”, a collaboration with the American pianist,
composer and arranger Misha Piatigorsky. In December of the same year, Ms. Rosa and Mr. Piatigorsky landed
in Portugal where they started recording the singer’s new album at the renowned Canoas Studio.
In 2022, Liz went on tour with Misha Piatigorsky’s Trio, featuring the trumpeter and jazz singer Benny Benack
III. The performances took place in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Brasília (Brazil), Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), São
Paulo (Brazil), New York (USA), Miami (USA) and Boston (USA).
In 2023, she premiered the Tribute to Leny Andrade at the renowned festival Fest Bossa & Jazz and became the
resident artist for the bossa nova nights at the Blue Note Rio. This year, Liz Rosa performed at the Rio Montreux
Jazz Festival with a show honoring the 50th anniversary of the album “Elis & Tom” and completed the recording
of her new album “Jazz Brasil”.
