AMIDOU KOÏTA

The music of AMIDOU KOÏTA is a universal music with the alchemy of contemporary and
traditional sounds of the Bwaba culture, which speaks to everyone. The artist has
intentionally developed his music to break with the ordinary by creating unexpected
patterns. Dense percussion with a singing overlay traditionally characterizes the music
of the Bwaba. AMIDOU uses this basic and lets the Bwamu language interact with other
rhythms.
AMIDOU performs his world music mostly in Bwamu und Diola languages. The songs
consist of a fabric of encouraging, awareness raising, cheering up and life celebrating
messages.
